Fluoroscopy Basics

  • Radiation safety: ALARA principle, protective equipment, dosimetry
  • Equipment: C-arm orientation, beam angulation, pulsed vs continuous fluoroscopy
  • Image optimisation: collimation, grid use, magnification
  • Contrast agents: types, dosage, contraindications, reactions

Spinal Interventions under Fluoroscopy

  • Cervical, thoracic & lumbar medial branch blocks
  • Facet joint injections (cervical, thoracic, lumbar)
  • Epidural steroid injections (interlaminar & transforaminal)
  • Sacroiliac joint injection
  • Discography basics

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

  • Principles: conventional vs pulsed RFA
  • Patient selection & indications
  • Equipment: RF generator, cannula & electrode types
  • Target anatomy: medial branch nerves (C3–C7, L1–L5, S1)
  • Lesioning parameters: temperature, time, impedance monitoring
  • Confirmation techniques: sensory & motor stimulation
